The right mascara can elevate any eye makeup look, taking it from a simple look to next level dramatic.

When it comes to enhancing your lashes, we’re usually on the hunt for something that makes them look longer, darker, and thicker, adding definition and volume to existing eyelashes without clumping or smudging. And that’s exactly what Boots shoppers are claiming this No7 Stay Perfect Mascara, £11.16 here (was £13.95), does.

The mascara’s product description dubs it ‘life-proof’, noting it’s designed to stay put all day long no matter what life throws at you. It’s not only smudge proof, but is also flake, sweat, humidity, and tear proof, making it perfect for the warmer months ahead – you just need to apply it in the morning and not worry about it again until the end of the day.

Despite it being able to withstand everything from tears to humidity, it’s actually easy to remove too. According to the product description, you simply need to hold a cotton wool pad soaked in hot water over your eyes to gently release the mascara’s tubes of colour on your lashes, then wipe them away, so you don’t need to worry that you’ll wake up with the dreaded panda eyes.

Boots No7 Stay Perfect Mascara has been a big hit with beauty fans

However, some users of the mascara have noted that they struggled to remove it, and were worried about it pulling out some of their eyelashes in the process. For stubborn mascara, often applying an oil based eyemake up remover to a cotton wool pad, then hold it in place for around 10 seconds.

You should then be able to gently wipe away the residual mascara, making sure you don’t forget to wipe the underneath of your lashes and around your eyes to make sure you get rid of any left over product. Try to avoid picking or pulling at mascara, as this is when your eyelashes – which are very delicate – can be pulled out.

However, other reviewers didn’t find it a problem, with one writing: “Love this mascara, never smudges and so easy to remove”, whilst another commended it’s sticking power, saying: “Excellent mascara. Only one I have found that doesn't run. Easy to wash off.”

One reason the No7 Stay Perfect Mascara can appear difficult to remove it because it’s a ‘tubing mascara’, which means instead of using oils or waxes like most mascaras, it uses a formular of polymers the wrap around each individual lash. Rather an painting pigment onto your lashes, with a tubing mascara you’re coating your individual lashes with a ‘tube’ that stays put and won’t smudge.

One newcomer to tubing mascara left a glowing review, saying: “Never tried a tubing mascara before but now I'm hooked! Lashes are my thing – I've tried 100s of different mascaras, including high end ones, but this honestly has to be up there with the best! This does an amazing job of lengthening and separating my lashes like no other mascara I've tried. I've had so many comments about my lashes since I started using this, including’"ooh have you had LVL’?! I'm very impressed. It stays flake free all day due to its tubing formulation and easily comes off with warm water. Love love love!”
