It seems like everywhere we turn celebs are giving their long hair the chop, and the latest A-lister to become a fully fledged member of the bob fan club is supermodel Cara Delevingne.

The 30 year old model-turned-actor has never been afraid of a dramatic cut, and has experimented with pixie cuts, waist length extensions and even a shaved head, as well as trying out platinum blonde, red, and dark brunette colours over the years.

Although she has recently returned to what is considered her signature a style – a warm blonde shade that reaches her chest – it seems Cara is already ready for a fresh new look, and has gone for a dramatic chop, cutting several inches off the length.

Her new bob now just barely reaches her shoulders, and has been cut with choppy layers to give it volume and movement. Although her debut snap of the look shows it styled in soft, gentle waves which tones down the shaggy cut, it’s clear that when straightened she would be rocking some serious edgy layers for a more punk-inspired vibe.

Cara Delevingne had recently returned to her breakout hair style, but has already changed things up again

Cara’s new look was debuted by its creator, Riawna Capri, who is also the stylist behind the glossy lock of other A-list celebs and supermodels, including Emma Roberts and Heidi Klum. The look was also shared on Instagram by celebrity hair stylist Ryan Richman, who styled Riawna’s creation ready for Cara’s next stint starring in Amazon Prime’s hit series Carnival Row.

Ryan is responsible for creating some of the most iconic new bobs out there, including Sarah Michelle Gellar’s recent impeccably styled bob, as well as working with the likes of Georgia May Jagger, Sadie Sink, and Ellen Pompeo. One commenter even begged Ryan to do Ellen’s hair in a similar way, saying: “OK but convince @ellenpompeo to cut her hair like this” with a crying emoji.

Cara's hair has been cut into a dramatically shorter new bob

Cara Delevingne became the latest celebrity to brave getting the chop, as she swapped her long supermodel hair for a choppy wavy bob with bright blonde highlights

It’s not just the chop that’s different for Cara; she’s opted for some bright highlights amongst her darker blonde thanks to colourist Nikki Lee, who is behind some of the most iconic blonde shades out there, including Emma Chamberlain, Hilary Duff, and Emma Roberts, as well a being Cara’s go-to colourist.

Riawna was clearly excited about adding another member to the summer bob club, as she captioned her post of Cara: “Look who else is going short for summer, This Beauty @CaraDelevingne!!! Who’s next!?! I’m ready with my new #901shears!”

So if you’ve been waiting for a sign that it’s time to get out the scissors and commit to the bob, we think Cara’s new cut is it.
