Actress Kimberly Hart-Simpson looks worlds away from her character on Coronation Street as she shows off her brand new platinum blonde hair colour on Instagram.
The soap star, who played the character Nicky Wheatley on ITV’s Coronation Street, showed off her hair transformation on Monday, after getting her grown-out roots touched up and going for an overall white platinum blonde colour.
The icy blonde shade was giving some major Game of Thrones vibes, with it being almost the exact same shade as Emilia Clarke’s character Daenerys, who was known for her white blonde locks in the hit TV show. Kimberly clearly thought the same thing, captioning the makeover snaps: “It’s giving ‘Daenerys Targaryen’”, as she posed with her new hair colour.
On the cobbles, Kimberly’s Nicky was known for her long hair extensions and sweeping side fringe that had become a trademark of the character's look. However, Kimberly’s latest hair transformation leaves her looking worlds away from Nicky’s signature look.
The actress has ditched the long wavy extensions, and instead is rocking a mid-length blunt cut bob that falls to the top of her chest. Her side fringe has also been grown out and cut into a longer layer that blends into the rest of her hair.
Although her character Nicky was also blonde, in the soap her hair was a much warmer toned shade, whilst Kimberly’s Game of Thrones-inspired colour is a much cooler, platinum blonde.
Styling her new ‘do with an oversized clip pinning back one side, in the photos Kimberly gives fans a look at her hair before the makeover, revealing some dark grown-out roots and a brassy yellow toned blonde colour. Her hair also appeared to be dry and dull; all clear signs it was ready for a trip to the salon.
Thankfully in the final photograph of her Instagram carousel she showed her new hair from the back, with a stunning milky blonde shade all over, and a blunt edged cut that made her hair look healthy and shiny again. She also tagged a Chester-based hair extension specialist, Angelo Hair Extensions , in her post, hinting that she may have had some extensions fitted to add thickness to her hair.
Plenty of celebs have been braving the move to a more platinum, cool-toned blonde in recent months, with shades like vanilla latte’ and ‘oat milk’ blonde being dubbed some of the ‘it’ hair colours for the season.
The shade has been hailed as a new beauty favourite thanks to its ability to work with so many different skin tones, and the more neutral, beige-toned blonde with milky hues gives you a cool, sophisticated look.
Will you be trying a new milky shade of blonde this summer? We might have just been convinced!
