Eva Longoria first won us over with her portrayal of the ultra glamorous model Gabrielle ‘Gabby’ Solice in Desperate Housewives, and it seems she decided Cannes Film Festival was the perfect place to show off some Gabby-approved glamour.

The actress shared a snapshot of her red carpet look before heading to the event, and it was every bit as glamorous and dramatic as we hoped. Although she’s been wearing her hair extra long and wavy over recent months, Eva decided to debut a dramatic new chop for the film festival.

Gone were her waist-length locks, and in their place was a blunt cut shoulder-skimming bob, smoothed into a sleek, poker straight style. The blunt cut came about at the hands of celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos , who has been the magician behind some of Eva’s best hairstyles.

Eva Longoria pulled out all the stops for her Cannes glam

Dimitris also shared some images of Eva and her uber glam new look, captioning his photos of her: “EVA BOB-GORIA. Sleek bob for stunning @evalongoria last night in Cannes film festival!” Eva’s new slightly asymmetric bob was styled with a side parting, with one side tucked behind her ear and an extra blunt cut along the bottom to give it weight.

To get Eva’s sleek bob, Dimitris revealed that he used L'Oréal Paris hair products, which Eva is an ambassador for, and added some extra volume and thickness with some extensions from Sway Hair Extensions.

Eva’s makeup would also have done Gabby proud, as she went for drama and impact with a dark sultry eye makeup look. Choosing to make her eyes the focus of the look, her makeup artist Ash K Holm created a dark, smokey cat eye flick, and lined Eva’s eyes in black eyeliner, creating a subtle point in the inside corners to accentuate the shape of her eyes.

Eva also had a softer look for her first Cannes appearance of the day

She added glittering silver eyeshadow to Eva’s eyelids and the inner corners of her eyes to match the actress’ silver beaded dress. For Eva’s skin, Ash created a glowing, bronzed base with some subtle blusher, and finished off her sultry, glamorous look with a glossy nude lip.

Eva’s glam team also turned out another stunning look for her earlier in the day, with Eva dressed in an oversized white shirt, with a softer more daytime-worthy version of her evening makeup, including fluffy false lashes, and a soft, brown smokey eye.

Her hair was also styled in an effortless top knot, with small section left loose and lightly curled for an easy, relaxed version of Cannes-ready glam that even her Desperate Housewive character would have approved of.
