Hailey Bieber has officially declared that winter is over with her bright yellow ‘lemon meringue’ nails.
The model is known for setting beauty trends, from sharing her secrets to glowy skin to braving a dramatic chop when it comes to her hair. Hailey is also known for her array of chic manicures, and certainly isn’t a stranger to a desert-based beauty trend, as her donut glazed nails recently proved.
Now her latest bit of nail inspo is giving us all the spring vibes as she showed off a neon yellow manicure on her Instagram last week.
Colourful nails are the perfect way to ease into spring style, and a bright shade like yellow instantly boosts your mood. Hailey showed off her almond shaped nails in a series of photographs on Instagram, styling the look with bubblegum pink eyeliner and ribbons tied in her half up-half down bunches.
Searches for yellow gel manicures skyrocketed after the model showed off her nails, proving that once again the Rhode Skincare founder has created another mani trend that we’ll soon be seeing everywhere.
Hailey’s manicurist of choice, Zola Ganzorigt, was responsible for her latest eye-catching manicure, and stuck to Hailey’s glazed donut style, with a glossy sheen and shimmery top coat that is the trademark of the glazed finish.
The nail technician shared a video with her Instagram followers last year where she revealed the exact shades that she used to achieve Hailey’s glazed donut nails, which included a full range from OPI; OPI Stay Strong gel base coat, OPI gel colour in Funny Bunny, OPI Stay Shiny top coat, and OPI chrome effects in Tin Man Can.
Luckily, you don’t need a celebrity nail tech to achieve Hailey’s lemon meringue manicure at home, and you can nail the trend with this bright yellow nail varnish from Boots, £4 here.
Before applying any bright colours, a base coat is a majorly important step. Not only does it make sure you’ve got a smooth base to paint onto, but it also stops bold colours like yellow from staining your nail beds. This Rimmel base coat, £4.49 here, also helps to strengthen your nails to prevent them from snapping and breaking.
Next, use Rimmel’s 60 Second Super Shine Nail Polish in the shade Chin Up, Buttercup, which costs just £4 here, to your nails. With a shade like yellow, you may need two or three coats to get a solid colour, so make sure you build up in thin coats to prevent an uneven finish.
To finish off the manicure in Hailey’s iconic glazed finish, apply OPI chrome effects in Tin Man Can before finishing with a top coat in OPI Stay Shiny top coat to seal your fresh manicure.
However, you can achieve a similar look by finishing off your new nails with this chrome-finish powder from Amazon, £4.45 here, and a clear top coat like the Essie Gel Nail Polish Top Coat, £9 here, which dries ultra fast so you don’t need to worry about waiting ages for it to dry.
I wonder which manicure we’ll be rushing to copy from Hailey next?
