Holly Willoughby is finally back on our screens as she made her return to presenting last week to co-host Dancing on Ice alongside Stephen Mulhern, and viewers were thrilled to see her back and looking as glamorous as ever.
For her first presenting role after leaving This Morning back in October, Holly wore a glittering floor length sequin gown for the occasion, and fans of the presenter were thrilled to see she hadn’t ditched her iconic blonde bob during her time away from the spotlight.
Holly’s hair was looking as glossy and perfectly styled as ever, cut into a chin-grazing bob and finished with a shiny blowdry with one side tucked behind her ear – her signature style.
We’ve always been envious of how sleek Holly’s hair is – no mean feat considering a bright blonde shade like hers is notoriously difficult to maintain without damage or drying out – so imagine our delight when we discovered that the secret to her healthy locks is an ultra-affordable shampoo.
Over on Holly’s lifestyle brand, Wydle Moon, her hairstylist Ciler Peksah recently shared her love of sulphate and paraben-free shampoos and conditioners, saying: “Sulphate-free shampoos are especially beneficial for dry and coloured hair. As I said Sulphates can strip out natural moisture and given that colouring hair can be drying and environmental effects on hair dryness and frizz, we need as much help as we can get from the products we use.”
This explains why Holly’s hair has managed to stay strong and glossy despite being exposed to harsh lightening chemicals like bleach, and Ciler was kind enough to share her list of go-to natural shampoo and conditioners.
One that stood out was Faith in Nature’s Grapefruit & Orange Shampoo, £6.69 here, which is a 99% naturally derived shampoo with a blend of organic orange and grapefruit essential oils which helps to gently cleanse and invigorate your hair and scalp, leaving it feeling fresh and banishing greasy hair.
Another bargain product Ciler recommends is the Herbal Essences, Pure Aloe + Avocado Oil Hair Conditioner, £5.99 here (or £3.99 if you’re a Superdrug member), saying: “This is a super value, creamy, hair conditioner that gently moisturises both your hair & scalp. The pure aloe and avocado oil ingredients create a gentle, pH-balanced formula that soothes from root to ends. The real botanicals in this formula have been endorsed by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew – a world-leading authority on plants.”
So, if you’ve been enviously coveting Holly’s shiny, healthy hair, the secrets out – it’s time to go au naturel.
