During pregnancy, there are so many different changes to contend with, and whether it’s your body, hair, or skin, it can be difficult to know what to do to treat them.
Although some changes will only be temporary and can disappear almost as quickly as they arrived, others can stick around longer, which is what Kate Ferdinand has discovered when it comes to her skin.
The much-loved TV personality, who is currently pregnant with her second child with husband, footballer Rio Ferdinand, shared with her Instagram followers that she had been struggling with a change in skin texture, as well as developing marks and pigmentation during her pregnancy. During a Q&A on her Instagram stories, Kate was asked by one follower to share her skincare routine and which products she uses.
Kate shared the question along with her response, saying: “I’m very thorough with my skincare but since my pregnancy I’m not feeling that confident without my makeup on! I have lots of marks, not sure what they are, and patches of pigmentation etc! I really am looking forward to hopefully having some laser once the baby is here!
“Saying that, although my colouring isn’t great, my texture has really improved since cleansing with these. I put my cleanser on here & it gives a really good clean & my skin is super smooth. It also means my makeup goes on much better!”
The product that Kate swears by is the Bea Skincare Vitamin Infused Konjac Sponge, £22 here , which come in a pack of four and work out at just £5.50 each. Each sponge is infused with a combination of vitamins and minerals, including Vitamins A, C, D, B2, B6, E and B12.
This means when it’s used on your face the vitamins are transferred to your skin, and it helps to maintain normal pH levels and protect the skin’s natural lipid barrier. The sponge also works as a gentle exfoliator due to its texture, which helps to improve your skin’s texture and smoothness, whilst also giving a deep clean during cleansing.
Konjac sponges are created using the root of the Konjac plant, which has been grown and cultivated for centuries in Asia. The vegetable’s fibres are naturally porous and become soft when soaked in water, which makes them perfect for using as a gently exfoliating sponge that’s suitable for all skin types.
