You might not know it, but changing up your skincare routine with each new season is the secret to keeping your skin in great shape. Winter requires much thicker, heavier hydrating products to protect your complexion from cold temperatures and harsh weather, whilst spring and summer is the perfect time to introduce lighter, more refreshing options.

If you’re looking for some skincare inspo, former Love Island star Eve Gale just shared her current morning routine on Instagram, and it’s packed full of lightweight products that are perfect for the new season. Each product is ideal for banishing dull, dry winter skin and embracing glowing, hydrated spring complexions, and it includes fellow villa alumni Molly-Mae Hague’s go-to Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, £49 here.

The cleansing balm is the perfect balance of nourishing and hydrating without being heavy or pore-clogging and is great for stripping away makeup, dead skin cells, dirt and even SPF. You can use it morning or night, with the three-in-one transformative formula changing from a nourishing balm to a cleansing oil and ending up as a hydrating cleansing milk.

It contains brown algae that’s rich in fatty acids and helps lock in moisture and boost your skin’s elasticity, whilst starflower oil helps soothe irritated skin – perfect for the start of allergy season. Eve mentioned both the original and the new green fig versions of the cleansing balm in her product list, with the latest launch having a very spring-ready scent of fig, raspberry and bergamot.

As well as the Elemis Cleansing Balm, Eve also uses a range of products from glowy skin hero Paula’s Choice. The brand is known for its skin-brightening products that leave you looking radiant, and are perfect for sloughing away any residual winter dullness.

In her routine, Eve uses the 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, £35 here, from the brand, which helps remove dead skin cells and fight breakouts and blackheads, leaving your skin smoother and clearer. She also uses For her serum, the former Love Islander uses the Anti-Ageing Retinol Serum, £44 here, to help reduce fine lines, wrinkles and brown spots and to help brighten skin.

To minimise irritation, Eve also uses the Paula’s Choice Nourishing Milky Toner, £26 here, which helps soothe and calm redness and irritation and reinforces your skin barrier – a must when using harsher products like BHAs and retinols. Her final pick from the brand is the Clear Oil-Free Moisturiser, £31 here, which is a lightweight moisturiser that hydrates your skin without clogging pores. It also helps fight breakouts and absorbs quickly into the skin, making it an ideal pick for your spring skincare routine.

Other products included in her routine are Weleda’s Skin Food, £8.95 here, which has an impressive A-list fan base including Victoria Beckham and Hailey Bieber, and the cult-favourite Sol de Janeiro Brazillian Bum Bum Cream, £48 here, which shot to fame after being a staple in the Love Island villa in recent seasons. Rounding off her routine is the Tula Skincare 24-7 Moisture Hydrating Day & Night Cream, £47 here, which not only hydrates but firms your skin, and is a great choice for those of you who love to keep your am and pm routines to a minimum.
