Celebs left, right and centre are getting their long hair chopped into trendy bob hairstyles. We’ve had Lily Allen with her ‘French girl’ bob and Emily Ratajkowski with a chin-skimming number, and now we have Maura Higgins making a bid for Bob of the Year with her modern take on a ‘Pulp Fiction’ cut.
You don’t even need to have seen the movie to understand this comparison because Uma Thurman’s fringe and below-the-ear chop is still an iconic look nearly 30 years on from the film’s release. Maura, however, is adding extra glamour to the short cut with plenty of tousled texture and smoky eyeshadow that really add to the overall drama of the look
Unveiling the style on the red carpet of last night’s Creed 3 premiere, Maura captions an Instagram grid post of her look from the night: “Me & my new best friend….Bob”.
Fans, of course, are delighted to see Maura with the transformation, and plenty of them are taking to the comment section of the post to share their thoughts on the style.
“Liz Hurley eat your heart out,” comments one, while a second says: “Of course she can pull off her bob.”
A third compliments Maura’s hairstylist, Carl Bembridge, for his work: “Dream hair yet again by @carlbembridgehair literally the hairdressing god. When you know you’ve made it.”
Maura has since uploaded a second snap of the look to her Instagram Stories, captioning it: “Hey bob, nice to meet ya!”
We can’t confirm yet whether this bob is a permanent new feature for the former Love Island star, but considering the reception to her chop has been so overwhelmingly positive, we imagine, if it is the work of a wig, Maura might actually consider cutting her own hair soon.
In fact, that exact situation just happened with Michelle Keegan. Just a few weeks ago, the actress posted Very campaign images to her Instagram grid, and in the snaps it looked like she had cut her hair into a bob. Alas, her hair had just tucked into the clothing, but that didn’t stop her followers from commenting about how amazing she looked with short hair.
Michelle must have read the comments because yesterday, she debuted a mid-length look after paying a visit to her hairdresser, Calum Tierney. This time, the look is most definitely for real.
