There's no denying Michelle Keegan has reached new heights of popularity since Netflix hit Fool Me Once hit our screen. And it seems the star is keen for a change now that filming is complete because she's just debuting a new look on her Instagram that sees her switch up her usual long layers for a wispy fringe.
Posing in a new Instagram Story clip to Lauryn Hill's Can't Take My Eyes Off You, Michelle captions the short video: "Switching it up today".
Though she hasn't said exactly what she's had done to her hair, and aside from the obvious addition of the new fringe, it looks like the 36-year-old has also added a few caramel highlights to the main bulk of her tresses and the new fringe. Helpfully, Michelle does tag in the salon responsible for the transformation, Lockonego – a London celebrity and Royal hotspot that has welcomed the likes of Victoria Beckham and Princess Beatrice through its doors.
Michelle's glam squad consists of Ben Cooke, one of the salon founders, and Emily Clarkson, one of her go-to make-up artists. It's also clear from the clip that Michelle isn't in the salon itself, but rather backstage in a make-up room, leading us to wonder if she's actually gone for the big chop or is turning to a clip-in fringe to get a new look for a shoot.
Time will tell, but we know for certain that a fringe suits the star to a tee! We also welcome any and all Michelle hair content as the star so rarely sheds light on her salon visits. The last time we were brought along for a visit to one was in February last year when she a debuted a new look that saw her lose several inches of length from the ends of her hair.
Her colourist for that makeover, Calum Tierney, gave us a full glimpse of the transformation process in an Instagram Reel posted to his page. We could also tell from his clip that Michelle hadn’t just gone home with a new cut, she also left with a new winter-ready, tonal hair colour.
“Pecan Brownie –Michelle Keegan,” he wrote, adding additional details about how he created the style. “Technique- Colour Contour. Colour @wellahair. Foils @framar. Wand @ghdhair. Products @sebastianpro_official. Extensions @hairtalkireland_uk.”
The new fringe look comes after Google reported huge surges in search traffic around Michelle's beauty and hair routines following the success of Fool Me Once. If you're also keen to know what she uses, here are three beauty products we know she's loving at the moment…
Refy Cream Blush, £14 here
Last year, Michelle’s makeup artist Emily shared a full breakdown of the products used to get the star looking glowing – and one of the more affordable products is the recently launched Refy Cream Blush in what we suspect is the shade Citrine.
NYX Professional Makeup Butter Gloss, £6.50 here
The make-up artist also answered one of the top questions to do with Michelle's make-up in a recent Instagram post: what's that perfect nude shade she wears on her lips? Fans will be delighted to learn that it's this affordable high-shine and high-pigment gloss in shade Tirimasu.
Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, £44.50 here
To get camera and red carpet ready, Michelle revealed back in January that she turned to this celeb-loved foundation. With a lightweight and silky texture that glides on seamlessly for all-day, buildable coverage, we can see why the star keeps space for it in her make-up bag.
