It truly is the season for getting a hair makeover, and more celebs than ever are opting for warmer tones and a lighter colour as we start to head toward summer and, hopefully, some warmer weather.

Getting your hair updated doesn’t have to be a major transformation though; sometimes some simple highlights and a warmer-toned colour can make a huge difference, and give you a fresh new look just in time for summer.

Michelle Keegan proves that a little goes a long way when it comes to getting a glossy new look, as she opts for a subtle toasted caramel hair makeover to give her historically dark locks a new lease of life.

Michelle Keegan is known for her dark glossy hair colour, but she's just debuted a much brighter brunette ready for summer

Although it was only a few weeks ago that Michelle showed off a winter-appropriate ‘pecan brownie’ hair colour, it seems the actress has decided it was time to go lighter in preparation summer, as she shared her new caramel-toned hair off before a night at a Netflix event.

Michelle posted her new look to her Instagram, saying: “Suited & booted for tonight’s Netflix ‘See whats next’ event. Talking all things Fool Me Once” with a brown heart emoji that referred to her brown tailored trouser suit and brown Burberry handbag.

In the snaps, Michelle’s hair is visibly lighter, with an all-over brighter brunette shade with caramel hues, and some face framing highlights that help brighten up her complexion. She also had a radiant, bronzed makeup look that worked perfectly with her brighter hair to give her a fresh, just-back-from-holiday glow.

The rest of her makeup was kept natural looking and soft, with some rosy blush on her cheeks, bronzer, and a nude lip that added to her naturally glowing look. For her eyes, her makeup artist Emily Clarkson kept it simple with a subtle cat eye flick of eyeliner, and some fluttery false eyelashes from Michelle’s go-to falsie brand ARDELL.

Emily revealed that she used ARDELL 3D Faux Mink Individuals, Medium, £7.99 here, to the outer corner of Michelle's eye to create a natural and fluttery cat eye look. The MUA usually uses ARDELL’s falsies when doing Michelle’s makeup, as the individual lashes are fully customisable and can be used in combination with other sets to create different looks.

For Michelle’s cat eye look, Emily kept the false lashes to the outer corner to create a subtle upward flick on the corner that mirrored her cat eyeliner, and coated the rest of her lashes in black mascara to blend them together.

Looks like we’ll be copying another of Michelle’s beauty trends ASAP!
