For any bride to be, making decisions about how you want your bridal party to look is a major part of your wedding day prep, and trying to pick a look that works for everyone can feel impossible.

From choosing bridesmaids' dresses to deciding what colour eyeshadow to have, the decisions never end, and one thing that can be tricky to settle on is how they should have their hair. Luckily for soon-to-be brides, Molly-Mae Hague has just shown off the results of her bridesmaid hair trials, and it’s safe to say we think it’s going to be the biggest bridesmaid hair trend of summer 2023.

Molly-Mae, who will be bridesmaid for close friend Francesca Britton in two weeks time, showed off the results of the trial run for her hair for the big day, and the intricate updo is the perfect combination of sophisticated and stylish.

The elegant updo features a smoothed top section with some subtle volume at the crown of the head which keeps it looking sleek, with the front sections of Molly-Mae’s hair left down in her signature curtain bangs. The front sections are loosely curled to frame her face, whilst the rest of her hair is swept back into an intricate oversized bun at the nape of her neck.

Molly-Mae's bridesmaid updo is going to be super popular this summer

It was no ordinary bun, though; Molly-Mae’s hair looks to have been curled before being fastened up, giving it plenty of texture and volume, and rather than being slicked back into a smooth knot, her hair was carefully pinned in place in several different directions to give it some added details.

The overall effect was super chic and sophisticated, but the loose, wavy front sections stop it from looking too traditional, making it a softer, more modern version of a classic updo.

We predict this will be one of the biggest bridesmaid hair trends of this summer, as it’s also a style that goes with just about every type of dress or outfit regardless of whether you’re opting for a classic satin maxi dress or spicing things up with colourful suits for your bridal party.

Versatility is definitely key when it comes to choosing your bridesmaids beauty looks, and Molly-Mae’s updo is understated enough to give brides the option of choosing a bolder makeup look for their bridesmaids if they want, but interesting enough to keep makeup more neutral and let the hair be the star of the beauty look.

The style can easily be adapted to suit different hairstyles and textures too, and small changes can help you make the look completely your own ready for your big day. Now there’s one less thing to worry about on your to do list!
