Qualifying as a beauty therapist in 2005, Tina Vescio started her beauty training over 20 years ago. Starting out as a mobile artist, the pro spent the next 10 years working from her summer house in her back garden. This salon boasted a ‘shabby chic’ aesthetic, but in May this year, she decided the space was in need of an upgrade, describing it as ‘beginning to look worn down and in desperate need of a revamp’.

This welcomed the birth of a new garden salon, boasting a ‘clean, crisp and minimal’ interior. Tina opting for a mostly white colour scheme, elevated with pops of colour.

She says: “The space had to work for me to carry out treatments. So, on one side are my nail desk and draws, which house hundreds of gel polish colours and glitters, and the other side is my beauty side – where I do beauty treatments such as waxing and facials.”

Having been landscaped by her husband, the garden offers the idyllic view for clients to enjoy as they have treatments. “I want it to feel like a private place to relax in, especially when clients have pedicures with the view of the garden,” shares Tina.

Clients benefit from free parking in her driveway, and the pro greets them and guides them to the salon, so clients needn’t worry about parking or getting lost.

As for nail services, the salon owner reveals: “I do a lot of gel polish treatments with builder gel as a base. I’ve started to do a lot more nail art recently, as my new clients are requesting it after seeing it on my social media.”

Commenting on the unique selling point of her salon, Tina notes: “I allow plenty of time for appointments, so clients never feel like they are being rushed out of the door. There’s also always a selection of hot drinks available with a biscuit or chocolate.”

Her favourite part of the salon lies within its organisation: “I just love the space and how things all have their place.”

Looking forward, Tina hopes to take on more clients and be fully booked, as well as enter the education sector: “I hope to offer online and one-to-one practical training – my first courses will be in manicures and gel polish!”
