If you’re anything like us, you’ve had a packet of Mini Eggs glued to your hand for the past few weeks. But what about when the packet finishes? You could just reach for another (hey, no judgement here, it’s Easter), or you could carry on the celebration with a speckled manicure.
Oh yes, mini egg manicures are a thing, and the look is currently taking TikTok by storm. A quick scroll through BeautyTok will likely show a few results for the trending nail design, but a top-liked TikTok video by @jessicawhitenailartist seems to be the one most people are using as a guide to help them create their own Easter-perfect mani.
The video has gained nearly 1 million views since it was posted last week, and shows how incredibly simple it is to get a speckled egg result from using just one clever top coat: Mylee's Speckled Top Coat, £8.99 here.
“Perfect for recreating those Mini Egg nails,” Jessica captions the short clip.
The nail artist starts the video with her base nail shades already painted and cured. She’s opted for pastel hues to mimic the colours of eggs found in the Cadbury packets. Then she simply paints a layer of this speckled top coat over each nail and cures the polish once more before the look is complete.
This particular product does require a UV lamp to cure it, so if you don’t have one already then you might want to look into investing in one because it could save you money in the long run. Since salon gel manicures cost upwards of £22 per appointment, you’ll be quids in once you’ve used this £50 Mylee lamp just twice.
If you prefer regular polish and want a speckled option that dries without the help of a UV lamp, we recommend Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Scarce, £6 here, which also gives a speckled finish, or Sally Hansen Insta Dri Nail Polish Sprinkle Sprinkle, £4.99 here.
