TikTokers have spoken; this Zara body oil is ideal for preparing your skin for the upcoming summer months, and it’s the perfect dupe for a much pricier designer version.
In a video posted to her TikTok, Abbie Quinn shared that she’d discovered “The Tom Ford Zara dupe we all need for summer” from the high street retailer, and it was just a fraction of the pricey designer version.
The Zara Soleil Decade Shimmering Body Oil, £10 here, leaves a shiny, glowing trace on your skin when you apply it; perfect for layering over a tan for a golden glow. It also has a silky, lightweight texture without leaving an oily residue, so you don’t need to worry about it sticking to your clothes, and hits this season’s fragrance trend too, with a creamy vanilla scent.
The perfect alternative for Tom Ford’s Soleil Blanc body oil, £85 here, is considerably pricier and promises to also capture a summer glow with its gold and platinum leaf, but at almost £75 cheaper, it’s no surprise TikTokers are flocking to Zara to snap up their version instead.
Abbie’s followers were thrilled she shared the dupe, with plenty of them tagging their friends, whilst another tagged a friend, commenting: “with a tan” with a heart eyed emoji, clearly excited to see how the oil would look when layered over a bronzed tan.
One follower wasn’t convinced, however, saying: “I love this!! But nothing like Tom Ford” with a crying laughing emoji. The jury might be out on whether it really is an identical dupe, but it definitely makes for a great alternative if you don’t feel like shelling out £85 for the Tom Ford version.
Whichever version you try, the best way to get the most from a shimmering body oil is to apply it to the ‘high’ points of the body after moisturising, and don’t forget to apply SPF on top. High points are where light naturally hits, which includes places like shoulders, collarbones, and decolletage, although of course there’s nothing stopping you from applying it all over for a more intense shimmer. Glowy girl summer is coming, after all.
