With the cold weather we’ve been having, it’s easy for our complexions to start feeling a little dull and washed out. However, if you’re not a fan of fake tanning your face to get some colour back, Zara McDermott has just shared her hack for getting a natural bronze glow.
Zara shared with her Instagram followers that she uses L’Oreal’s True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum, currently £11.99 here, in a shade slightly darker than her natural skin tone to give a bronzed complexion.
The former Love Island star said that she finds fake tan can block her pores and end up looking a bit patchy, and this serum is the perfect way to give that ‘no-make-up, make-up’ glow. Although Zara is a L’Oreal ambassador, her story is not an ad and claims she is genuinely a huge fan of the serum. And we can’t deny the results of her glowy, bronzed complexion.
The serum has racked up a bunch of glowing 5-star reviews, with one reviewer writing: ‘Absolutely love this serum, it’s lightweight and perfect for a daily bit of coverage when you don’t want to wear a lot of make-up. Just enough to make you look ‘awake’ and gives a lovely glow to your skin, makes your skin look just like skin but better. Reorder time and time again.’
A second customer did comment about the sheerness of the product, stating: ‘It’s great for every day and just to add colour but not great coverage’. However, the low coverage the serum provides is perfect if, like Zara, you’re using the product to bronze up rather than as a foundation. You’ll be able to go in with you’re normal make-up products on top without feeling too cakey.
Some other tints that provide a similar finish include Charlotte Tilbury’s Unisex Healthy Glow Hydrating Tint, £39 here that has been labelled ‘summer in a bottle’, giving sun-kissed, bronzed skin all year round. Saie’s Slip Tint Dewy Tinted Moisturiser, £27 here, also provides a sheer, glow coverage, making it the perfect bronzy base or stand-alone product.
Lastly, Maybelline’s 24-Hour Super Stay Skin Tint, £11.99 here, is more affordable than the other alternative, while being largely skincare-based to really give that natural tint.
Happy bronzing!
