Emily Ratajkowski has rarely been seen without her long, glossy brunette hair colour, but on Monday she shocked fans as she made a dramatic departure from her signature dark tresses.

Gone was her usual warm brunette look, and in its place was a soft, pastel pink shade. Although our suspicions of it being a wig have yet to be confirmed – the model posted a video of herself the next day with her trademark brunette hair magically restored – there’s no denying that the candy colour looks absolutely stunning on her.

The dramatic hair transformation came from one of the most popular celeb hairstylists in the business right now, Dimitris Giannetos , who shared the video of Emily’s major makeover on his Instagram on Monday.

In the video, simply captioned “EMRATA” with a pink blossom emoji, Emily can be seen showing off her major beauty moment, with her candyfloss coloured hair making the most of a wind machine as she zooms in on her hair colour and bronze, glittery makeup.

The swimwear designer and model’s new – and potentially temporary – hair makeover was made up of long layers, with a much darker shadow root that matched her natural hair colour.

Her makeup look gave a similar ethereal vibe, with glowy tanned skin, and incredible bronze glittery eyeshadow with dark eyeliner framing her eyes, with the eyeshadow stretching almost up to her browbone. and blended in towards her nose for a dramatic look that suits her new pastel hair colour.

Her pastel colour was a huge departure from her usual brunette

EmRata knows not to take herself too seriously, and has in the past commented on how ridiculous she finds people’s attitudes towards her body and what she does. She’s also no stranger to temporarily changing things up with her hair, and has previously experimented with a similar bubblegum pink shade when she wore a pink shoulder length wig complete with a feathery fringe.

Wigs are the perfect way to experiment with a hair transformation before you commit to any more permanent decisions, not to mention they allow you to switch up your shade, colour, and style without causing any damage to your natural hair, so you can be as bold and experimental as you want – a win win.

As less than 24 hours later her hair was back to long and dark brunette with her curtain bangs, we think it’s safe to assume that her recent hair switch up was, in fact, a temporary style, but if we were her, we’d be considering making it a more permanent change.
