The BAFTAs are almost over for another year, and we’ve been graced with some enviable sleek and silky hairstyles during the event that we’ll be racing to copy at the next possible opportunity. From Emily Atack’s elegant chignon to Michelle Keegan’s sleek curls, there’s no shortage of hair inspo for our next event.

And it turns out, there’s one styling tool in particular behind many of our favourite hair looks of the night – GHD’s Chronos Hair Straightener, £289 here. The newest offering from the hair styling stalwarts, they only launched earlier this year but it seems they’re fast becoming a must-have for any hair styling beauty kit.

Emily Atack and Michelle Keegan both used GHD's Chronos straighteners for their BAFTAs hair

In a behind the scenes look at her BAFTAs prep over on Instagram, Emily Atack showed off her goodie bag of beauty essentials, including the GHD straighteners, whilst Michelle Keegan also gave a glimpse at her get-ready routine at the Savoy Hotel on Instagram, which included a similar gift bag from GHD that included the straighteners ready to be used to create her glossy waves.

The straighteners may be new to the scene, but they’re already loved by celebs, influencers and beauty fans alike. The newest styling tool has been designed to be up to three times more responsive than their other tools, and has gloss-coated floating ceramic plates that help prevent breakage and boost your hair’s shine.

They also have built-in HD motion-responsive tech, which means they adapt to your styling movements quickly and give one-stroke definition that lasts up to 24 hours, so you won’t need to spend ages going over and over a single section. They also monitor the heat being placed onto your tresses, making sure they stay at the optimum 185°C, all of which adds up to less damage and breakage.

Shoppers who’ve already snapped up the straighteners have been singing their praises, with one saying: “First of all I absolutely love the design!!! The white is so so so cute! And I literally straightened my hair in under 5 minutes as I didn’t have to go over the same strands more than once. I’m very happy with it and would recommend it.”

The GHD Chronos straighteners have been called a game changer

Another wrote: “Ghd Chronos is a complete game changer to my hairstyling needs. With super fast styling in just one stroke, I can see an instant effect on my hair–straight and shiny. It can also work as a hair curler to achieve a wavy hair look. This product is truly worth it. The only downside is it doesn't have a temperature control or options (eg. Low-High settings). Nevertheless, I would still recommend this to my friends and will buy this brand and product again.”

If you prefer a straightener with an adjustable temperature setting and don’t want to break the bank splashing out, these Babyliss Straighteners, £60 here (was £90), have also gotten plenty of great reviews, with one person saying: “Amazing set of straighteners bought these after my ghds broke, found them just as good!” Another person wrote: “They were bought as a present. Lovely colour and design. Work really well on thick long hair. Would recommend them if you are looking for straighteners.”
